I get this is trying to be like Resident Evil, a franchise which I have never played but have watched walkthroughs for all the games, and those games look better than this will ever be. The combat is way too slow and boring to sit through, and you run out of ammo pretty fast, but you can only stack so much ammo, and I couldn't even find much more ammo for the gun I was using, and I couldn't find ANY ammo for the frigging shotgun. The camera is pretty bad too. Even RE's camera is placed in better spots than this. They really like to place the camera where you can't see the enemies. You will actually have to use the auto-aim in order to kill them, because they aren't always in view of the camera as they should be, because they have it too close to your character. And I didn't exactly find the music very fitting for a game set in a place so dark and creepy. The animations aren't that great either. They're kinda goofy. I kinda like it, honestly. Now, I know that even RE has a limit to your inventory, and I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but FOUR SLOTS?! They keep laying out weapons for you that you won't even be able to hold, because you need to pick up ammo for another gun, or grab painkillers, which you cannot stack, unfortunately. The inventory system is messed up in my opinion. There should be at least 8. That'd be more manageable. So yeah, I think this game isn't very good. It's not fun, it's not scary, and I personally recommend that you not bother with this. I mean, if co-op makes it a bit more entertaining for you, then by all means go for it, Good on you.. Its pretty much just Resident Evil Outbreak, complete with co-op and plenty of levels to enjoy. If you enjoyed the Outbreak series, or the idea of idea of co-op Resident Evil seems like a fun time, get this game.. RESIDENT EVIL OUTBREAK IS BACK ONLINE !!! give it time the game is new game from a small team so i got it time !!! they just made any fans of Obsucure Resident evil Silent hill Dino crisisRealy happy cose now you can you a genre like all those classic game ONLINE WITH YOUR BUD !!! Thanks Dead Drop Studios LLC .. and wish you luck with future update.. Outbreak: The New Nightmare is a sequel to a 2D top down zombie survival game called, well... Outbreak. If you're interested in this series, I highly recommend starting here. You won't miss anything story-wise, but you will most likely find this game yards better gameplay wise. This game doesn't try to pull any punches; this is a love letter to old school Resident Evil games... particularly the Outbreak title(s). Similar to the RE:Outbreak games, you choose between a cast of characters, all with their own strengths and weaknesses. Some start with specific weapons, some have certain resistances, others have a lockpick or can carry more weight... you get the picture. You're then thrown into a scenario where you need to escape to progress your way throughout this apocalypse. Each scenario plays out relatively the same... gear up, solve some puzzles, kill some enemies, get out. On top of this, there is an Onslaught game mode, where you survive however many waves you can in these maps until your ultimate death. The game throws bosses and special kind of hordes, similar to other wave-based zombie shooters out there. Right out the gate though, you will realize that this is a game created by an indie company. It certainly takes some imagination. The animations and movements can be a little strange at times, but I think it's very easy to look past this and realize this a well crafted game, with some technical limitations. While the basic premise remains the same throughout the chapters here, the new areas genuinely feel different. And I don't just mean that they look different, which they certainly do... but they also feel different, which is what I think several other games in the genre fail to get. The new areas can have different weather patterns, notes, music and camera angles (which, I especially liked in Faith). I can easily find it within myself to look past technical limitations when the developer has put this much care and thought into their project. The game features a leveling and perk system, which brings an interesting level of progression to a game like this. While on the surface, the different characters seem to only have two traits... there's actually a whole bunch that get progressed as you level up. And, then you have the perk system, which gives you a new slot every X amount of levels, to really give your character some customization. This will help you a lot at the higher difficulties, and in the Onslaught mode. Throughout the game you will find several files, which serve a varied purpose. From simple lore setting, to explaining why things are the way they are (in terms of why there are so many keys, codes, etc, which I think is a nice touch), to giving you code information... I really liked the file system in this game. I found myself reading each and every file in my playthroughs. Again, more praise for the Faith level... in this level, some poor soul tried to escape a graveyard before you, and you follow his trail and notes he left behind to help anyone else out there. While some people may complain that the files don't get stored with you, I think it adds another level of difficulty and planning that harkens back to the game of yesteryear... except nowadays, you won't need an actual sketchpad by your side; simply put that cellphone to good use! I had a virtual notepad with me for every level As far as complaints: the melee combat is... definitely not up to snuff. It doesn't seem to work right at all for me. You either need to allow yourself to get hit (like you see in the trailers here), or you need to time it so oddly that it doesn't make much sense. From my limited testing, the actual "hit" takes place after the animation, so you need to time the swing so that it will damage the enemy after the swing, then back up, and do it again. This kind of frustrated me, but thankfully on the two lower levels (probably the only two you would play, as to play the two higher difficulties you kind of need external help or to be at a very high level), you don't really need melee. Luckily, this was fixed in the next game. While the game certainly was suited for multiplayer use, unfortunately the MP community is pretty empty at this time... I wish the game was more balanced for single player in regards to the inventory. Each character should have +2 inventory slots in SP. This would make the game a lot less frustrating, as you only get 4 as the standard... this is good for a weapon, spare ammo, a healing item, and your choice of a second weapon or a key item. The map, while informative, could've been more... I wish it would've told you what weapon/ammo/item was there, instead of just "weapon". I know that might make it too "easy", but if it's going to say that there's a weapon there, why not tell me which one? Other than that, I only suffered from one game breaking bug, where a key item completely vanished on me in the second level. I tried to replicate this, but failed to do so. I thought it was worth mentioning though, after running around the map for an hour going berserk... the rest of this game is completely playable and works All in all, this is definitely a worthy game. Because the MP community is pretty low, if you don't have friends interested in this type of game and are simply going to stay in SP, I recommend waiting for a sale on this or picking it up in a package deal with the other Outbreak titles. There's about 10 hours of content here before you've seen everything (at this time, I'm at 11 hours and have done all the achievements besides the grindy ones... I'll get to them eventually) that sets you up for the next game. I wish I got into this game earlier when the MP community was higher. I can see a lot of replay value here with groups, but it does get pretty stale solo after a while, due to all the back tracking with your limited inventory. I definitely would recommend this to anyone that is a fan of the old school RE games regardless. The series keeps getting better! 70/100. this game is amazing its a resident evil style survival horror game camera angles limited ammo its fun and its challeging if you are a huge fan of survival horror or resident evil you need to get it its 7.19 on sale and more updates are coming :}. at the moment basicly a barebones fan remake of RE outbreak, there's only one scenario so far, but the base gameplay is there. I reallly want this to end up being good, what's there is already promising.I had a lot of fun playing the one map with a friend. really look forward to future updates!the first game is neat too, i wouldn't recommend getting it unless you have a couple of friends to play with..
